Lehbit (Adopted)

Species: Hybrid Winter White

Est age: < 4 months

Gender: Female

Likes: Mealworms, Pine nuts, sunflower seeds (These are all high tier treats you should use for taming / bonding!)

Dislikes: Being picked up suddenly (She will struggle out of fear and anxiety)

Lehbit loves hopping and dashing around the cage – that’s where her name came from. She’s also often seen in her cage climbing on top of her hideouts (or trying to) just to take a peek at the world outside of her bin cage. She’s a curious little soul who will peek out of her hideout when you turn on the lights after a long day of work, and (sometimes) scamper to climb onto your hand out of sheer curiosity! (Of course, this means it’s a great chance for you to bond with her by feeding some of her favourite treats)

However, because she’s a rescue, she’s still a little timid, and may freeze or choose to dash away when you try to lift her up, so do so very gently. No sudden movements please!

When sleeping, she likes to make multiple homes with multiple different stashes throughout the cage, so you’re never really sure where she’s hiding.

This little lehbit (rabbit) has just one unique requirement – she LOVES her burrows, so thick bedding is important for her.

Requirements:

Diet: Bunny Nature Expert (or equivalent) + Mazuri Lab blocks

Cage: Unbarred cage of 70cm by 40cm (min.)

Bedding: Oxbow / Teabag bedding (of AT LEAST 15 to 20cm)

Sand: Wittemolen/Versele Laga Chinchilla sand

Enrichment: Multiple hideouts

Chewie (Adopted)

Species: Syrian (Long-haired)

Gender: Male

Age: Est 1.5 years old

Likes: Hiding in his man cave. His privacy. Dried tofu!

Dislikes: Small, dusty pieces of bedding that will get stuck on his fur. Loud noises and being squeezed scares him
Fosterers’ Instagram: @nuggetpudding

Chewie is a shy boy that hides most of the day, rarely coming out. He only comes out of his man-cave once a day for food and water and then he will tiptoe back into his hideout. If you miss that food and water moment, you might think that you’re just looking at his furry butt peeking out of the hideout for days (Or you might just hear him running the wheel at 4am).

He’s a very simple and low maintenance companion, some may say he’s quite the boring guy! Despite this, Chewie respects humans and knows that he’s safe in our hands. He will need an owner that will supervise him when being handled by anyone else, especially children, so that he does not get squeezed, dropped, or screamed at.

When drinking water or munching food, he will be fully focused and won’t move while being petted (his fosterer loves grooming his fur when he’s snacking). He relaxes when being picked up and is ok with play times & fur combing using a soft bristle toothbrush. Sometimes, he will give you a nibble when he’s telling you that he wants to go back home (Aww!).

Chewie is a no fuss hamster that just needs a loving home that can care for him and love him for the rest of his days and be by his side–for better or worse, in sickness and health.
