Profile:

Named after his resemblance to a Mango Seed, this sweet hamster will surely burrow his way into your heart! When he was found near the trashbin, this little guy weighed just 90g. After treating his itchy skin and discovering his love for snacks, he now weighs in at a healthy 110g.

Mango Seed likes to spend his days napping, running on his wheel, and digging through his bedding. This sweet boy is more of a looker, but will tolerate being handled for short periods of time. Adopters can enjoy his adorable antics as he goes about his day. Additionally, he will politely and gladly accept any and all treats, munching happily away.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Mango Seed may occasionally experience some skin irritation. Adopters should be able to recognise when his skin appears red/itchy and be willing to take him to the vet for a check-up. To keep his flare-ups in check, dust-free bedding is required and his cage has to be cleaned on a twice a month basis. Adopters should be creative in ensuring Mango Seed can engage in his passion for digging by giving him dedicated dig areas with slightly deeper bedding. As of now, the Vet recommends that most of Mango Seed’s set up be easily cleaned, with no wooden toys or complicated set-ups. His bedding should also be shallow (no more than 3 inches deep). Paper or cardboard enrichment can be given but these should be replaced every two weeks when his cage is cleaned.
