Little miss Skittles has grown so much in just over 2 months! In such a short time, she has shown potential in being a chonky robo. Although food is life, she never fails to treat her hips like how a lady should. She unleashes her energy on her wheel on a nightly basis and her pitter patter can be heard for at least a few hours!

Skittles was extremely nervous in her first few weeks at her fosterer's home- Very often attempted to escape whenever she was handled and was skittish like any other robos. Having to be treated for her fur, she has started getting used to human hands. 2 months in and this adorable girl now allows you to pat her while she sits and eats in her food bowl! But of course, one will need to gain her trust first. Fret not, as she now often musters up courage and takes treats from hands.

Future hampawrent should have experience with roborovskis and to take note that Skittles has very bad hearing. Hence she will not respond if you call out to her. However if she happens to see you whenever you hang around her cage, she would pop her head up to sniff out any yummy treats you have for her.

Skittles is looking for a furever family to add more colours into their lives~

For more information about Skittles or if interested adopters have any questions about the requirements stated in her profile, please DM her fosterer (@justburrowing on Instagram) before applying!

Things to note when adopting roborovskis:

1. Adopters should make sure to get a glass tank/bin cage/acrylic cage that does not have bars as roborovski hamsters are smaller and can squeeze through the gaps.

2. 1/3 of the cage should be covered with sand as roborovski hamsters tend to become excessively ‘greasy’ when an appropriately sized sand area is not given.

3. A wheel that is minimally 21cm should still be provided even if they are smaller in size as compared to dwarf hamsters.

4. They are fast and might not be suitable for children. Some may also nip/bite.

5. Taming is not guaranteed, but possible with lots of patience, time and love!

Requirements:

Cage: At least 70cm by 40cm (non-barred cage)

Wheel: 21cm or bigger (non-wooden as she pees/poops on it!)

Diet: Fatpouches Premium/Standard seed mix + Bunny Nature Dwarf Expert

Main Bedding: Teabag bedding

Sand: Wittemolen/Versele Laga chinchilla sand

Enrichment: Garden pebbles (for nail filing). Sprays and multiple ceramic hideouts recommended
