Dora (Adopted)

Species: Campbell dwarf hamster

Gender: Female

Estimated age: 3+ months

Likes: Grain sprays, fresh fruits and veggies, interacting with people, pouncing on treats, running around her enclosure, roaming outside her cage

Dislikes: Being held for too long, lack of hiding spaces while roaming outside

Dora is a friendly explorer ham whose curiosity is only limited by her enclosure. She has no fear of people, does not bite, and will climb onto your hand, on your arms, or on your shirt to explore the outside world. Dora is not comfortable being held for too long, and would prefer to roam in an enclosed space outside her cage be it on a floor, on a bed or on a couch. She can also become anxious if not given a place to hide while roaming.

Dora needs tender loving hands as she is smaller (and probably more prone to getting hurt) than other hams her age.

If she suspects you’re carrying treats, she will emerge from her den and approach you to ask for it. Her treats of choice are fresh fruits like grapes and bananas. She also enjoys stocking up on grain sprays like millet sprays and flax stalks.

Dora is a ham that needs lots of running space. Inside her enclosure, she frequently runs in her wheel or goes to different corners to stash food. While Dora loves lots of space and plenty of treats, all you need to earn this affectionate ham’s love is plenty of attention and a caring home.
