Scout (Adopted)

Species: Winter White hybrid
Gender: Female
Est. Age: 6+ months
Likes: Burrowing, sleeping in dark and tight spaces, flax sprays, ceramic hideouts
Dislikes: Strangers touching her babies, grabby hands, too many people crowding around her while she's on someone's palm

An amazing and protective mum to 7 babies, Scout came to us from an overcrowded household. She was housed with and likely bullied by other hamsters while in her previous home which resulted in a slightly torn ear — don’t worry, her ear functions perfectly and adds some character to her otherwise adorable appearance!

Like most hamsters, Scout loves food. Whenever it’s dinnertime, just call out “Scout, Scout!” and she rushes out from whichever hideout she’s in to enjoy her feast. But this loving mum will gladly give up her food to her babies so they can grow up big, strong, and healthy. Definitely an A+ parent in our book!

When she’s not busy looking after her 7 rambunctious scamps, she takes naps in the quietest and darkest spots in her cage and will stand on her two hind legs whenever someone approaches her cage and scratches the sides of it out of curiosity. Despite her small stature, she's an accomplished athlete and enjoys running on her wheel late into the night!

She may on occasion lightly nibble on the fingers of strangers but this gentle soul simply does it out of curiosity and not for the purpose of hurting anyone. She is otherwise very tame, especially with her fosterer.

Scout was previously treated for mites and is now mite-free with a beautiful coat of luscious fur!
