Chubba (Adopted)

Species: Dwarf Winter White

Estimated age: 4 months

Gender: Female

Likes: Chilling on her wheel, Heinz pumpkin potato and beef baby food, flax seed, shanghai green, xiaobaicai, cabbage, baby corn, mealworms, dandelion roots, tunneling in her bedding to get from place to place, chilling in the sand when no one is around

Dislikes: being disturbed inside her cage (unless you come with food)

Chubba was affectionately named after the famous lollipop brand because she shares the same shape as the sweet treat hehe. Chubba is a curious critter and loves peeking out from her hiding spot to investigate noises (in hopes of food). You can often find her scurrying over to her feeding area to stand on her hind legs with her front paws on the cage walls to stare at you approach. She is responsive to sounds and food and will vacuum her seed mix up whenever it is refilled.

She has also mastered the art of guilt tripping and will stare at you pitifully when she sees you coming towards her cage without food… very sneaky. Although she was slightly overweight when she entered foster care, Chubba is now of a healthy weight. Her new family should be mindful not to overfeed her and to provide her sufficient enrichment so she can keep her mind and body busy!

To balance her love for food, she also loves to chill and run on her wheel -more of the former but let’s give her some credit :’-)  Being the quirky little ball she is, she loves to burrow through bedding to get from hideout to hideout, like a little spy. Her fosteror also suspects that she likes lounging in the sand pit when no one is around given all the seed husks she leaves behind.

Chubba is more comfortable with interaction outside her cage, and it is recommended that her new family takes her out of the cage via a hideout/ container and lets her explore the new environment for a while before interacting with her. This will help her to adapt! She is fine with being handled after she has adapted to the new environment.

Will you give this sweet treat a forever home?

Requirements

Cage/ bedding/ food/ enrichment: as per HSS requirements.
Wheel:
broad based wheels like the Niteangel cloud wheel preferred! She likes to lounge on the wheel and she is too chonky for wheels with a normal width :’-) She can confidently use larger (25cm) lightweight wheels too.
