Smallest of the litter, Wednesday is the runt. She may be tiny but out of all her siblings, she may just be the bravest and the most hyperactive. The first to learn how to stay put in her foster mum’s hand, she will end up licking your palm fervently if your palm is sweaty. She is also the first to learn how to climb up to the top of the wheel and her water bottle holder and she probably achieved it through sheer determination and perseverance.

This funny girl also has a quirky habit of trying to aim for (and completely missing) treats that are offered to her by hand. She usually tries grabbing pine nuts with her teeth, missing them, then retreats a few steps before trying again and again until she gets her food. Other times, she will simply freeze as you are waving food a few millimetres away from her nose because she is thinking about whether she should accept your suspicious offering.

Being your stereotypical hyperactive female Syrian hamster, Wednesday will likely have to have daily playpen or free roam time due to her boundless energy.

Your day will surely be brightened up by this girl who’s a big ham trapped in a tiny body.

Requirements

Cage: Unbarred, 100x50cm or bigger

Wheel: A lightweight 21-30cm wheel (she is currently using a 21cm wheel due to her small size but this WILL need to be upgraded as she grows so she gets to run with a straight back)

Bedding: As per HSS requirements, 12cm thick bedding because she enjoys making tunnels and burrowing

Food: Bunny Nature Hamster Dream Expert or Fatpouches, fresh vegetables

Enrichment: Plenty of hideouts, sprays, forage, boredom breakers, free roam/playtime time
