Paimon is like a monkey in a hamster’s body! She seems to have an unlimited supply of energy, a huge difference from when she was surrendered (more on this later). She absolutely loves her wheel and can literally cause her cage to shake just by speeding on the wheel. While she’s not running on it, she can be found eating and sleeping on it while it rocks gently. She has also attempted to climb her wheel to reach her enclosure’s lid and has tried to monkey-bar across it as well. Thus, it is best to provide her with an unbarred enclosure (ideally at least 50cm tall) to prevent her from escaping or hurting herself.
She can be pretty shy and skittish, and used to dart away the moment she sees a hand entering her enclosure. However, just like the game character she was named after, the way to her heart is 100% food! Slowly but surely, she started responding to her fosterer. It began with taking food from her fosterer’s hand (and dashing away), then laying a paw or two on their finger while she ate, and now, she is happy to pop onto the hand for a short period of time as long as there’s food!
When Paimon was initially surrendered as part of an accidental litter, she was lethargic and sniffling away, and was thus treated for respiratory issues. She has since recovered, but adopters have to be attentive for any signs and symptoms of recurrence.
