Fosterer’s Instagram: @mellyyland

Ocho was rescued as a lil baby with seven other hamsters who were unfortunately abandoned :( He was given the initial nickname ‘hamster 8’ which led to him being named Ocho, Spanish for the number eight! He was a teeny tiny shypie boi who always feels like a small boi in a big world. Ocho is still learning that some humans are good, and he is becoming braver day by day!

Ocho spends most of his day hidden in his nest and/or burrows, so it’s recommended to give him lots of bedding for the busy boy to make his tunnels. At night, he comes out to snack and munch and run on his wheel. He can be startled by sudden movements and/or loud sounds, so he should be placed in a quiet location.

While he doesnt like being handled, Ocho is an inquisitive boy and enjoys free roaming and exploring his fosterer’s room. He is a sweetie who will definitely thrive with an adopter who is willing and able to spend lots of time earning his trust and showering him with love :)
