Mr Wrinkles came into HSS custody with multiple bite wounds from being improperly housed with other Syrian hamsters and wrinkly testicles from being dehydrated. Initially, Mr Wrinkles didn’t even know that hideouts were meant to be slept in since he was never provided any hideout before being rescued, and would only sleep out in the open on top of his hideouts.

After more than a month of proper care, his wounds healed beautifully, he became less lethargic, his testicles went back to normal, and his fur grew longer and more luscious. While he is still a little shy, he is now willing to take his favourite snacks from his foster mama when handfed. This gentle giant never bites and constantly looks like he had a wild night out partying by himself due to his long and perpetually messy bedhead which has made his foster mum laugh on separate occasions.

For some reason, Mr Wrinkles enjoys sleeping in corners, having tried napping in all four corners of his current cage. As such, his foster mum would prefer if he had access to all corners in his new home so he has more nap time options. In general, he prefers sleeping in darker areas, perhaps due to his dark red eyes which causes him to be a little more sensitive to light.

Mr Wrinkles once had a fateful encounter with a large cockroach that somehow entered his cage which caused him to grind his teeth together loudly in annoyance and fear. Due to that unfortunate incident, we automatically assumed that he dislikes cockroaches since we were unable to interview Mr Wrinkles about his negative experience and opinion of cockroaches.
