Bingsu is a dreamy, soft, ball of fluff (and chonk) that only his chosen few can feel his velvet-like coat! He was given up by his previous family after having nipped his young human more than a few times, which made her afraid of handling him.

In his foster home, his fosterer noted that he nips out of curiosity and not out of fear or aggression. He has learnt to accept light pats and strokes along his back and is still learning to be calm when carried. However, if you have a treat in your hand, he'd be more than happy to snatch it out of your grip and plonk on his little butt while nibbling away!

He has his own routine that he sticks to rather religiously - sleeping most of the day and then waking up around 8pm. He loves rolling in his sandbath to start off his day before hopping around looking for his fresh portion of food. He then tries to burn off the calories by running on his wheel or burrowing a maze throughout his enclosure. When he needs to take a nap, he would find one of his burrows to hide in, preferably at the corners. With an acrylic enclosure, you may just get to see every of his cutest (and goofiest) moves!

Bingsu will be most suitable for a home with working adults as his active hours so happens to be post-dinner for us! How considerate of him, amirite. He hasn't been socialised much, thus taming him might take some time but is definitely possible with a patient owner that is willing to understand his mood swings and need for personal space.

Here is the list of supplies he uses! It's not a must to use the same products, but it would be highly recommended to do so!

  • Bedding: Oxbow Pure Comfort

  • Food: Fat Pouches Premium Hamster Mix + Bunny Nature Dwarf (and 1 block of Mazuri Lab Blocks every 2 days)

  • Sand: Versele Laga Chinchilla Sand

  • Wheel: Daisy Silent Wheel 21cm

Important Notes:

  • An unbarred cage such as a glass tank or acrylic cage would be recommended as he has a history of bar biting in his previous home.

  • As he is an avid burrower, it is recommended to have as much unbroken floor space (i.e. no hideouts/accessories in the way) as possible. A "hack" would be to use platforms for accessories so that they don't reduce his floor space!

  • To satisfy his burrowing addiction, a bedding depth of 7cm and above is preferred!
