Mumu is a very timid little boy. He is also incredibly fast, so most of your relationship with him will probably happen from a respectful distance at first.

He absolutely loves his tunnels and burrows, and that’s where he feels safest. So having a transparent acrylic cage may help you observe him in his tunnels! But Mumu is also secretly quite curious. Sometimes you’ll catch him sitting outside, listening to your conversations. He may also listen to you with big doe eyes, his ears will twitch up and down too if you speak to him very gently, before he’ll scurry straight back underground like he was never there.

If you’re lucky and stay up late enough, you might also catch him sitting peacefully at his food bowl having dinner. He doesn’t pouch his food very much, so he often just sits there eating on the spot, which is honestly very cute to watch.

Mumu can also be quite verbal if he senses danger and makes his own little squeaks (or screams) from time to time.

Because he is extremely timid and difficult to catch, we would prefer an experienced hamster owner who is comfortable handling a fast robo when needed, especially for the routine body and health checks.

Mumu needs an adopter who is patient who is happy to let him feel safe first and slowly earn his trust.

Sand: Any HSS approved sand

Enrichment: Min. 3 hideouts which can include a multichamber, or tunnels. Along with sprays or herbs for foraging
