Baobab (Adopted)

Species: Roborovski

Gender: Female

Age/DOB: 4 months

Likes: Nightly marathons on her wheel, making a mess of her food bowl, sunflower heads, flax sprays

Dislikes: Light, sudden movements, sorghum sprays

A curious but shy girl, Baobab readily explores new environments and will always run up to sniff your hand if you reach into the cage gently! She may dart away if you try to touch her too quickly though, but can easily be lured out with a treat in hand.

Baobab is generally comfortable with being handled, and will even settle in for a quick doze if she's sleepy and comfortable with you. But be careful handling her when she's busy scurrying around her cage or running on her wheel! When in an active mood, she would much rather be exploring the area and speeding around, making her difficult to catch and handle.

She's most active when the lights are dim or when it's dark, and can be found running on her wheel for hours on end in the wee hours of the night. When the lights are on, she tends to find a dark corner to hide in, where she will wait until it's dark again - making her the perfect companion for night owls!

Requirements:

Wheel: Non-wooden wheel - she pees on it occasionally

Bedding: Any approved paper bedding

Sand: Currently on Witte Molen Chinchilla Sand; any approved sand

Food: Currently on fatpouches premium mix. Larger food dish preferred as she tends to plonk her ass in it and dig.

Enrichment: Several hides, sprays, chews, etc
