Dodoco came from a hoarding case and had little to no human interaction before arriving at the fosterer’s place.

Just like her namesake, she’s a relatively active hamster. She’s usually active in the early evening and in the mornings where she can be found in her favorite place – her wheel, peeking out and being curious about the sounds and sights around her. Although she spends most of the time sitting in her wheel, she doesn’t run on it until the wee hours of the night when it’s dark and everyone else is asleep. This means it’ll be best to provide her with a covered wheel for her to feel secure peeking out of.

She loves to stand on her two hind paws when listening for sounds (refer to photos!) and will receive treats by holding out her two front paws.

She is slowly learning to open up to trust human beings and can be quite vocal when she doesn’t like what you’re doing. While still relatively jumpy and afraid, she often lets curiosity get the best of her. Whenever you place your hand in her cage, she will come to explore (and even give you a few light nibbles that don’t hurt that much). This is where you can slowly gain her trust by feeding her treats as a signal that human hands are a good thing.
