Aurora (Adopted)

Species: Syrian

Gender: Female

Estimated age: 1 year

Likes: sleeping (a lot…), hiding all her poop in one hideout, lounging in her sand bath, stoning

Dislikes: baby kai lan, being woken up (she grinds her teeth at you), sudden movements

Aurora has a very distinctive personality and unlike most hyperactive female Syrians, she prefers to spend her days napping (at a very specific corner – next to her wheel, out in the open and without any bedding underneath her). She only wakes up around 9pm to exercise on her wheel and lounge in her sand bath. She is an independent girl who prefers to take things slow and easy.

She takes time to get used to new surroundings and when she was first let out to free roam, she kept circling a specific area near her cage as she was very cautious about the unfamiliar environment. Her new family should take things extremely slow with her. Notably, she is easily spooked and will literally jump when you give her a surprise pat.

An important point to note is that Aurora is rather light for her age possibly due to genetics and/or poor nutrition in her former home. She is not keen on Rodipet (Syrian series) and seems to like Fatpouches’ standard mix more. She also takes well to her dinner of fresh vegetables. It’s important for her new family to be able to commit to providing her the best nutrition possible in order to make up for lost time!

Will you be the one to watch this bright light shine? :-)

P.S. The bulge in her cheek is a nut that she pouched during the photo shoot… which was meant to be a prop…
