Fiji (Adopted)

Species: Winter white dwarf

Gender: Female

Est. Age: 1 year 2 months

Likes: Food. Literally, all types of food. Fatpouches, rodipet, walnuts, almond, pine nuts, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, millet sprays, sorghum sprays, broccoli, cabbage, spaghetti, tomatoes, egg, cheese... you get the drift?; Burrowing

Dislikes: Being rubbed too hard

Fiji’s previous owners surrendered Fiji as they were afraid of approaching her, given her “aggressive” nature. She was left eating burp food in a tiny, less than 30cm PLC cage with minimal human interaction for her whole life. That has changed ever since she was given a more-than-minimum environment!

When first brought under HSS’s Foster Programme, Fiji was slightly nibbly and squeaky as she was extremely unfamiliar with human hands. However, she never once bit aggressively! The only times she bites slightly harder is when she mistakes finger for food.

Although Fiji also used to hide in her burrows a lot, she now runs out once she hears you tapping around her cage, or shifting her toys around. She loves interaction and will always climb onto your hand happily. She is not yet comfortable being lifted out of the cage yet, but will allow many back massages! Fiji’s fosterer has not seen her run on the wheel much, but her healthy self still runs around actively!

Fiji has been fed with fresh veggies every 2 days, and she manages to clear them all every night! She will do good with thick bedding, and a fancy diet to satisfy her big foodie personality.
