Paddington (Adopted)

Species: Roborovski

Gender: Female

Estimated age: 2 months

Likes: food (vegetables and sweet treats alike!)

Dislikes: sudden movements

ust like her namesake (Paddington Bear - who always carries a jar of marmalade with him), Paddington Ham is a major foodie. She loves healthy treats (like vegetables) and snacks and is not particularly fussy. She is a photogenic little girl (especially when she stops for a snack break) and she didn’t hesitate to venture onto her fosteror’s (treat-filled) palm.

She is more food-motivated and a little braver than her siblings and with patience, it’s likely that she can be hand-tamed! Also like her namesake, Paddington has a keen sense of smell and might associate your hands with the smell of food (so be careful of your fingers!)

In the film, Paddington bear found a forever home with the Brown family and now, Paddington ham is looking for her forever family too! Could that be you?

Things to note when adopting roborovskis:

1. Adopters should make sure to get a glass tank/bin cage/acrylic cage that does not have bars as roborovski hamsters are smaller and can squeeze through the gaps.

2. 1/3 of the cage should be covered with sand as roborovski hamsters tend to become excessively ‘greasy’ when an appropriately sized sand area is not given.

3. A wheel that is minimally 21cm should still be provided even if they are smaller in size as compared to dwarf hamsters.

4. They are fast and might not be suitable for children. Some may also nip/bite.

5. Taming is not guaranteed, but possible with lots of patience, time and love!
