Potato was rescued from a backyard breeder who was getting rid of her unsold stock. Having lived his life in a tiny cage crammed with other hamsters and fed a inadequate diet of mostly corn, he was initially terrified of human interaction and would scream and jump to bite aggressively.

Since his placement into our foster programme, he has calmed down considerably. Although he is still territorial and does not like being grabbed or having hands inside his cage, he is willing to be picked up using a cup and allows you to stroke his face and ears! He has stopped biting since staying with his fosterer, and loves to explore and play with his toys/hideouts.

It’s a shame that his previous living conditions have affected his personality, but he is a really sweet boy who is learning to trust again, day by day. Are you the one that he can trust?
