Tootsie (Adopted)

Species: Winter white
Est Age: 3 months
Gender: Male
Rescued: 28 March 2019
Likes: mealworms, burrowing, all sorts of treats and snacks (but has to be mashed)

Tootsie is the brother of Kirin/Kirei, however he’s only half their size. He is the runt of the litter, and has suffered abuse in his previous home, leading to a broken jaw and permanently disfigured teeth. He is no longer able to eat solid food because of this impairment.

Despite the circumstances, Tootsie is relatively less aggressive than his siblings, but does occasionally squeak when frightened. He is still nervous about being held, but is slowly learning that we mean no harm to him. To help him feel safe, we have provided thick bedding for him to burrow in, and he loves it.

Potential adopters please note that Tootsie suffers from permanently crooked incisors, which require a permanent diet of mashed food and daily care. He is also required to go for teeth trimming every 2 months, which costs around $50-$60 per trim. If his teeth trimming sessions are missed, he will be required to go for surgery to cut off the excess growth, which costs between $120-150. This is mandatory, or he would not be able to eat and starve to death. Do consider the financial factors as well as the ability to provide care when you are away for overseas trips before applying to adopt Tootsie.

He’s still so cute though. Look at these pictures
